I used to commute from DP to Irvine this way, thanks to too many close calls I am now exclusively going through Laguna Niguel etc, and correspondinly spending my money there when I stop for shopping or snack. I wrote to the LB traffic engineer, but based on response I guess cyclist money is no good in Laguna... (as always, they blame calTrans)
Typical when entering Laguna from any road, this is on Pacific Coast Highway from the south.
